Speech is a Grammy award winner, documentarian, and the frontman for Arrested Development. With the game changing release of Arrested Development’s “3 Years, 5 Months and 2 Days in the Life Of…” album, Speech became a Grammy Award winner early in his career. Since then, Speech has released multiple solo and group projects, including the 2021 “For the FKN Love” project. This album has been met with commercial and critical success, and features hip-hop heavyweights Big Daddy Kane, Fatman Scoop, KXNG Crooked and more.
In our interview with Speech, we discuss his latest project with Arrested Development and the nervousness he felt releasing it, how the pandemic helped shape “For the FKN Love,” and the upcoming Arrested Development world tour. We also discuss Speech working with Big Daddy Kane on Arrested Development’s single Vibe, and look back at the history between the two artists including early shows they did together, and a dinner party that took place in the 90’s with KRS-One, Rakim and more! Being able to speak with Speech was one of the biggest highlights of our podcast so far. We hope you enjoy this pod as much as we enjoyed making it! As always, we’ve included full tracks throughout the episode so you can discover Speech’s music during the episode.
