During this most wonderful time of the year, B Siide Radio decided to share some holiday raps that stay in heavy rotation during the Christmas Season. From West Coast gangsters partying with Santa to family friendly Christmas posse records, we’ve collected the full spectrum of Holiday Hip Hop.

Kanye West ft. G.O.O.D Music – “Christmas In Harlem”

Kicking off this list with Kanye, the G.O.O.D music roster and their 2010 classic, “Christmas in Harlem.” This track was the last release in Kanye’s iconic G.O.O.D. Fridays run which saw the rapper drop a new track on a weekly basis. “Christmas in Harlem” is an extravagant Hip Hop Christmas celebration that isn’t lacking in heart. The star of this record is Teyana Taylor, whose hook gleams like the reflection of Christmas lights on New York snow.

Master P ft. C – Murder – “Christmas in the Ghetto”

Master P and C-Murder’s “Christmas in the Ghetto” speaks volumes to how the disenfranchised feel about the holiday season. The production for this record is a flip of the Christmas classic “Deck the Halls” with a grimy No Limit Records twist. This X mas record appeared on the 1995 release West Coast Bad Boyz: High fo Xmas

Run-DMC – “Christmas In Hollis”

Christmas in Hollis” is a single by Run -DMC  that was included on two 1987 Christmas compilation albums featuring various artists: A Very Special Christmas  (A&M 3911) and Christmas Rap (Profile 1247). The title refers to Hollis, Queens, the New York City neighbourhood where members of Run-DMC grew up. The track samples Clarence Carter’s 1968 holiday song “Back Door Santa”, as well as “Frosty the Snowman”, “Jingle Bells”, and “Joy to the World.” The record has been used countless times in classic Christmas flicks such as  Less Than ZeroDie Hard ( It counts as a Christmas Movie) , The Night BeforeThe Grinch and Holiday Rush .

Outkast – “Player’s Ball”

Player’s Ball” is the debut single from the iconic  Hip Hop duo, Outkast. Originally released two weeks prior on the compilation A LaFace Family Christmas, the single was released on November 19, 1993, to promote the forthcoming debut album, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik.  In the first song that ever got OutKast any mainstream attention, the duo raps about a players ball they attend every year on Christmas Day. When the song began to move up the Billboard charts, the record was re worked in order to maintain popularity even after Christmas season. 

Gucci Mane – “St. Brick Into”

“St. Brick” is the lead single from The Return of East Atlanta Santa, the tenth studio album by  Gucci. The album was released on December 16, 2016, by GUWOP Enterprises,  Atlantic Records. The visual finds Gucci Mane reprising his role of “East Atlanta Santa” as he gifts a family with some substantial wardrobe and home decor upgrades.

Snoop Doggy Dogg – “Santa Claus Goes Straight To The Ghetto”

Santa Claus Goes Straight to the Ghetto” is a classic Hip Hop Christmas record by Snoop Doggy Dogg featuring Daz Dillinger, Nate Dogg, Tray Deee, and Bad Azz. This track was released as the first and only single from the 1996 album, Christmas on Death Row. The song is inspired by the James Brown’ version of “Santa Claus Go Straight to the Ghetto” from the 1968 album, A Soulful Christmas.
